Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behavioural responses are interconnected. It looks to make connections between your early experiences with the development of your underlying belief systems, the impact this has on your thoughts in the here and now, and subsequently how this affects how you feel and behave.

CBT aims to help you to make these connections and identify ways to break this cycle in an active, skills-based way.

As part of this therapy model, at home tasks are required in between sessions and beyond therapy ending, in order to bring about therapeutic change and maintenance of these changes.

CBT is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for a range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety-based presentations, depression, post-natal depression, PTSD, OCD, Psychosis, Bipolar Disorder, to name a few.
